Chez Alexandre

*Flash review alert*

It was a wonderful April day, a couple weeks back, and we were celebrating the fact that two of my great friends were finally LEGALLY married :p So, after having signed the papers, we all walked to Chez Alexandre on Peel. Would not have been my first (or last) choice because, having worked right above it for years, I knew it was going to be expensive.

And it was. See, I believe people go there to get noticed and that's pretty much it.

We had some drinks (that were great) and then I ordered the fish n' chips table d'hôte. I kind of wanted to compare them with Comptoir 21. Oh man, so did NOT compare!

Salmon Tartare

-Good spices
-Bread WAY too hard (would not want to break yet another tooth!)
-Pieces a bit too big in my opinion

-Fries definitely not homemade
-Fish was dry
-Breading was a bit soggy
-Why the piece of lettuce?

Meringue fluff with crème anglaise and dulce de leche

-Like air
-Cream way too eggy

Service was very quick and efficient. As soon as our drinks were empty, they'd come and ask us if we wanted more. Food also came very quickly which was most appreciated as we were starving!

And now, the scores!

Food: 5.5
Service: 8.5

Never going back if I can help it. As I said, it was for a joyous occasion and we did have lots-o-fun but for the price, this place is not worth it.
